Do you want to learn to surf on days with small waves? Then come foilsurfing at Foil School Netherlands! Using a hydrofoil, you’ll learn how to glide above the water even in minimal surf conditions. And that feeling of flying over the water? It’s something you’ll never forget.

New in our program: the Duotone Foil Assist.
This is the perfect intermediate step toward true foilsurfing. The foil assist gives you an extra boost to get up on the foil and, if desired, allows you to ride to the next wave using the booster motor. This way, you build confidence and technique step by step before foilsurfing fully under your own power.

What does a lesson look like?

We always start on the beach. On land, we go through the following steps:

Explanation of the surf hydrofoil and foil assist: how the equipment works and how to operate it
Safety guidelines: so you enter the water as safely as possible
Demonstration by our experienced instructors: see how it’s done and ask anything you want to know

Then we head out onto the water, where you’ll learn step by step:

Practicing prone and kneeling positions to develop balance and control
Learning to stand up and start using the foil assist
Take-off: from riding on the water to your first meters of “flying”
Foilsurfing real waves, optionally using the booster motor
Riding longer runs and refining your technique

Can I use my own equipment during the lesson?

Eventually, you have to do it with your own equipment. So it’s very understandable that you already want to practice with your own gear! By mutual agreement this is possible. Still, we prefer the use of school equipment. Why? This way we’re sure that you are learning with the best equipment to make optimal progression.
What do I have to bring with me?

It’s very important to bring your own surf or water shoes. You need them in order to protect your feet against oysters and/or sharp shells in the water. Also bring swimwear, a towel and sunscreen with you!
How long does a class take?

The standard foilsurf private or duo lesson lasts 2 hours.
What equipment do you teach with?

For the foilsurf lessons we use the newest Duotone boards and foils.
How does the payment of a booked lesson work?

We work with forces of nature that we cannot control. Because the weather leads a life on its own sometimes, you pay whenever you’re actually at Foil School Nederland for your foilsurf lesson. We have a mobile pin or cash.
